Pink accepts the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards 2021, which airs May 23, 2021, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Pink supports California’s newest law, which makes the state the first in the United States to require vaccinations for teachers, staff and students attending full-time public and private schools in grades 7 through 12. On Sunday (Oct. 17), the “Cover Me In Sunshine” singer took to Twitter to express her disapproval of those participating in mass demonstrations across the state to oppose the new mandate, which went into effect Oct. 1.

“To all those participating in” the state’s “widespread demonstration “against vaccination requirements…. Where were you when they made us buckle our seat belts and not have polio ???? Late to the party !!!! #keepingkidssafesinceforever #dontwantmeaslesneither, “The 42-year-old shared on her account along with several middle finger emojis.

A follower responded in Pink’s defense and wrote, “I’m a happy vaccinated teacher who wears a mask every day! I love being in the same room with the amazing kids I teach. I am getting my booster VERY soon. I want to be as close to my loved ones as possible! ” Pink agreed with the fan and expressed her desire to get the COVID-19 shot. “Me too! (Well, I’m not a teacher), but would love to get the vaccine, so I don’t kill people by accident! Give me someone a booster !!!!!” she added.

However, Pink’s stance was not without resistance – the singer received a skeptic in the comments section who stated that vaccination is “our choice.” The singer responded, “I wish nurses and doctors didn’t have to take care of you when your dumb ass gets sick.”

The four-time Hot 100 topper, who last released All I Know So Far: Setlist in May on the RCA Records label, consisted of tracks taken from her various live performances. “We all miss live music, so let’s close our eyes and imagine we’re screaming Queen together again. This album makes me happy from start to finish,” she tweeted after its release.
